DEAD RECKONING.

John Rohner

In Necropolis, in the cities of the dead
families are painted red
Mother and children are torn apart
laying in gutters close to their heart
I'm calling on you, my friend
It's time for all to end
It's a Dead Reckoning- calling the dead from their land
Fear overcomes sanity- Horror overcomes fear
You'll get used to it- nothing is sacred here
The oblong box will open- as everything seems to fall
Out will step Malfesto and scream a wild call
His cry travels through the city- echos 'till it's done
Don't listen to his song- don't listen anyone!
It's a Dead Reckoning- rise up and take my hand
Running down the streets of misery,
tripping in every hole
Not fighting for my life anymore,
fighting for my soul
His scream is only matched by mine
as I strive for the light
Behind every corner and shadow
growing is my fright
It's a Dead Reckoning
recruiting soldiers for his war
I slay the slayed
as the city of death comes alive
and all are after me
I strengthen for a fight to death
the brave warrior will be me
"you can't fight death" I scream
but who hears?
How can you kill what's not alive?
the greatest of fears!
I triumphantly thrust my blade
into what is not
all is gone,
and I have won
but what have I fought??
